About Us
Kathy and Matt Buccieri founded Buccieri's GEMS & JEWELRY on November 11, 2005, with a vision to create a welcoming and knowledgeable haven for customers seeking a stunning array of jewelry and gift items. Their commitment extended beyond business, as they aimed to become active contributors to their community. Over the years, they've joyfully sponsored numerous teams within the Jefferson Recreation Department, contributed to various fundraising events in the Oak Ridge area, organized fundraisers for Jewelers for Children, collected gifts for a local shelter supporting battered women, and engaged in other philanthropic endeavors. "We believe it's our privilege and duty to give back to the community that has played a pivotal role in our success," they emphasized.
Before embarking on their journey with Buccieri's GEMS & JEWELRY, Kathy and Matt both gained valuable experience working at Tiffany & Co. for nearly a decade. Kathy held diverse roles within the Service Awards Department, while Matt made his mark in the Quality Assurance Department and the Gemstone Acquisition Department.
It was in the Quality Assurance Department where Matt honed his expertise in assessing gemstones and ensuring that the highest quality standards were met. Upon being promoted to the role of Manager of the Colored Stone Buying Department at Tiffany's, Matt had the opportunity to traverse the globe in pursuit of the finest and most exceptional gemstones in the industry. He also had the privilege of visiting state-of-the-art gemstone cutting facilities in Germany and Thailand, witnessing the transformation of rare gemstones into the exquisite finished products that grace today's market.
Matt's commitment to excellence continued as he graduated from the esteemed Gemological Institute of America more than 20 years ago. He remains dedicated to his craft by actively participating in seminars and major trade shows worldwide. During one of his journeys, he studied at the Swiss Gemological Laboratory in Basel, Switzerland, earning a certificate in the Determination of Gemstone Origin.
